Hitachi CM and ABB signed the Memorandum

In late March 2021, Sonosuke Ishii, President of Mining Group, Senior Vice-President and Executive Director of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. and Joachim Braun, Division President, Process Industries, ABB Ltd. have signed the Memorandum of Understanding to conduct joint activities in bringing solutions that will reduce the greenhouse gas emissions associated with heavy machinery in mining.

Using advanced engineering technologies, the Companies will explore opportunities to apply ABB’s electrification, automation and digital solutions to mining trucks and excavators provided by Hitachi. The aim of the combined solutions is to enhance the efficiency of mining businesses, contributing to the reduction of carbon dioxide and accordingly improve the environment.
